With one week left in the regular season, two playoff spots are still up for grabs, and the fates of five teams will come down to their final game.
After the Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, and Washington Commanders all clinched playoff berths over the weekend, there was still one open spot left in the AFC and one in the NFC. The NFC berth will come down to the winner of the NFC South, either the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the Atlanta Falcons. While three teams — the Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, and Cincinnati Bengals — are left in contention for the last AFC spot.
And that’s not all that will be up for grabs in Week 18. The Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings are set to play a heavyweight, winner-take-all game where the winner wins the NFC North and the top seed in the NFC playoffs. The Kansas City Chiefs already secured the top spot in the AFC with a win on Christmas Day.
There are division titles and plenty of playoff seeding up for grabs next weekend too. So, after a wild, six-day, holiday weekend filled with football, here’s what the playoff picture looks like heading into the finale:
