AI is increasingly resembling humans as it integrates into our daily lives and work. Virtual assistants now hold conversations with natural intonation, while digital avatars can mimic human facial expressions. For instance, OpenAI recently introduced the Advanced Voice Mode in ChatGPT, using real actors’ voices to create lifelike tones, natural conversations, and emotional responses, aiming for AI to sound “warm, engaging, confidence-inspiring, [and] charismatic.” Similarly, Character.ai, the second most popular gen AI application, allows users to interact with fictional or historical characters like Librarian Linda, Elon Musk, or Napoleon Bonaparte.
