Demi Moore won her first Golden Globe award for her role in “The Substance.”
Upon accepting the award, Moore, 61, expressed her shock at winning.
“Having been in this industry for over 45 years, this is the first time I have ever received an award as an actor,” Moore shared with the audience at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

In “The Substance,” Moore played a character fired from her fitness show at age 50 for being deemed too old. She then turns to a wonder drug that transforms her into a younger version of herself, portrayed by Margaret Qualley, at a price.

After composing herself and expressing her humility and gratitude, Moore recalled a time when a producer labeled her as a “popcorn actress.”

“At that time, I interpreted that as a sign that I didn’t deserve recognition, and that belief damaged me over time,” Moore reflected.
“A few years ago, I thought I was finished. But then I came across this crazy script. The universe showed me I still have more to do,” Moore added before leaving the stage.
Moore recounted being advised by a woman to stop comparing herself to others and to recognize her own worth without measuring up to external standards.

Before exiting the stage, the “G.I. Jane” star emphasized that the award was a confirmation that she belongs in the industry.
