Democratic Senator expresses disappointment over party’s failure to respond in a coordinated manner

Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., criticized the Democratic Party’s lack of a coordinated response to President Donald Trump in an interview on Sunday with ABC’s Jonathan Karl.

Schiff expressed disappointment in the State of the Union response, stating that it shifted focus away from important issues affecting American families. He emphasized the need for policies to address the high cost of living and economic challenges facing citizens.

He responded to Sen. John Fetterman’s remarks about the Democratic response, disagreeing with Fetterman’s criticism. Schiff highlighted the importance of addressing economic issues and criticized the current administration’s impact on the economy.

Sen. Adam Schiff criticized the Democratic response to President Trump’s address on ABC’s “This Week.”

Karl also asked Schiff about the Democrats’ strategy in responding to the president as a party, referencing Democratic strategist James Carville’s suggestion to “play dead.” Schiff disagreed with this approach and emphasized the need for a strong agenda to improve Americans’ economic well-being.

He highlighted the importance of advancing policies and making compelling arguments to address the economic challenges faced by Americans. Schiff emphasized the need for the party to actively engage in litigation and communication efforts to reach new audiences effectively.

Other lawmakers, including Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-VT., rejected Carville’s suggestion, stating that the party needed to be more proactive rather than passive.
