A Tennessee man is facing charges after he allegedly opened fire on a family that was sledding in the snow, claiming the family was on his property.
Benjamin Cook is facing six counts of aggravated assault in connection with the incident, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. Additional charges may be added as the investigation continues.
The sheriff’s office received a report of a man shooting at a family of six playing in the snow on the 6300 block of Stoney River Drive on Friday.

Initial reports suggested that the parents and their four children were sledding down a hill in their neighborhood, but heard gunshots from a nearby house on Birchwood Pike.
The mother observed snow flying near her one-year-old son, prompting the parents to confront Cook, who claimed they were on his property. The family denied this claim.
The family left the scene and reported the incident to authorities.
Deputies went to Cook’s residence, spoke to him, and obtained photos from a neighbor showing Cook with a rifle in the vicinity.
Cook was subsequently arrested on charges of aggravated assault.
