DF Entertainment and Live Nation Forge Partnership with Estadio Luna Park S.A.

DF Entertainment, along with its partner Live Nation, has signed a strategic agreement with Estadio Luna Park S.A. to renovate the legendary Buenos Aires venue and manage it comprehensively for the coming decades.

Declared a National Historic Monument in 2007 by the Argentine Ministry of Culture, Luna Park will undergo a major renovation and expansion as part of this new partnership.

Originally inaugurated in 1932 as a boxing stadium, Luna Park has transformed over the decades into one of the most important cultural venues in Latin America. It has hosted historic performances by artists such as Frank Sinatra, Luciano Pavarotti, Mercedes Sosa, Astor Piazzolla, and Sui Generis, as well as legendary boxing matches featuring Ringo Bonavena, Carlos Monzón, and Gatica. It also welcomed His Holiness Pope John Paul II in 1987. With its last major renovation taking place in the mid-20th century, the venue is now in need of a comprehensive modernization to meet global standards in live entertainment for hosting world-class artists and their fans.

DF Entertainment and Live Nation will lead the renovation of Luna Park, with a reopening scheduled for late 2027, marking the beginning of the journey toward its centennial in 2032. The project will increase capacity while preserving its iconic façade and original architectural elements, reaffirming its identity as one of the most recognized venues in the world. DF Entertainment–Live Nation was selected by Estadio Luna Park S.A. through a private selection process, which included top players in the market.

“It’s a tremendous honor to have been chosen, together with our partners at Live Nation, as the sole entities responsible for renewing the most important cultural venue in Argentina’s history,” said Diego Finkelstein, Founder of DF Entertainment. “We will bring the full strength and expertise of DF Entertainment and Live Nation to this unprecedented transformation, ensuring Luna Park continues to be a global reference point for artists, shows of all disciplines and genres, elite athletes, and fans—while honoring its historic legacy.”

“Buenos Aires is one of the world’s great music cities, and Luna Park is at the heart of it,” said Michael Rapino, President and CEO of Live Nation. “We’re honored to be part of the revival of this historic venue as we continue to connect the best artists in the world with the music fans of Buenos Aires.”

“In light of the new challenges presented by today’s cultural landscape, we hope this new chapter will offer the public a comprehensive, high-quality experience, while also enriching the cultural life of the City of Buenos Aires and strengthening its position as an artistic beacon in the region. It is our wish that the stadium regains the brilliance that defined it throughout so many decades of history and memorable events,” stated the shareholders of Estadio Luna Park S.A.

Buenos Aires, the second-largest city in Latin America, has historically lacked top-tier venues for live entertainment. The new Luna Park aims to help fill that gap with an estimated 150 events per year, combining international and local performances.

The project will be led by Live Nation’s global venue development team in collaboration with leading Argentine architecture and engineering firms.

The project was designed to preserve and enhance the original structure, which was built in stages and has undergone numerous transformations over the years. Following an extensive architectural assessment, a comprehensive restoration was planned, one that will conserve all facades and its historic signage, keeping the iconic image of Luna Park alive in the city’s collective memory and urban landscape.

Key highlights include:

  • A Luna Park Museum will be created, honoring its history, legendary performances, and sporting milestones
  • Improved acoustics and sightlines to enhance the concert experience
  • Expanded food and beverage areas
  • New dressing rooms, technical rooms, and production areas optimized for concerts.
  • New premium suites and experiences
  • Parking facilities
  • Optimized entry and exit routes for audiences and technical crews, minimizing the impact on the neighborhood
  • Integration of sustainable energy systems, aligned with international efficiency and sustainability standards
