Folks with limited mobility or those who prefer more stability while riding may discover newfound freedom by settling into the comfortable seat of an electric trike. Startup Meet One Trike has recently introduced a dual-motor model named the Tour, following the release of a folding electric trike in October.
We’ve featured several pedal-assist trikes lately, including offerings from Addmotor, Lectric, and Hase Bikes. Similar to Meet One’s recent Breeze e-trike, a single motor enhances pedal power to assist in climbing hills or carrying heavy loads like groceries.
The new Tour e-trike boasts double the motor power to ensure that “freedom on wheels” is accessible to all, especially catering to senior riders, individuals with balance issues, or those who struggle with traditional bicycles.
Featuring a 750-W motor between the rear wheels and another at the front wheel’s hub, the Tour achieves a total peak power of 2,400 watts and provides an impressive 180 Nm (132.7 lb.ft) of torque. It can reach speeds of up to 25 mph (40 km/h) and comes equipped with a “high-precision” torque sensor for a smooth and natural riding experience.
The e-trike offers the option to operate with a single motor or engage two dual-drive modes, along with cruise control, throttle-only mode, and reverse. Additionally, it includes a Shimano 7-speed gearset for added versatility.
Equipped with dual 48-V/15-Ah Samsung batteries mounted low on its 6061 aluminum frame, the e-trike meets UL 2271 safety standards and provides a total of 1,440 Wh of power, offering a potential range of up to 130 miles (209 km) per charge.
Riders can enjoy a generously padded seat with backrest support, along with a full suspension system featuring a suspension fork and dual shocks to absorb rough terrain. The rear cargo rack can support up to 150 lb (68 kg) of cargo, with the e-trike’s maximum payload capacity reaching 550 lb (249.5 kg), including the rider.
Each 20-inch wheel is outfitted with 4-inch all-terrain fat tires for excellent traction on various surfaces. Hydraulic disc brakes with 180-mm rotors provide reliable stopping power at each wheel, and a parking brake is included for added safety. The e-trike also features a speed differential for easier maneuvering and stable handling.
Additional features include an LED headlight, two rear brake lights with turn signals, full fenders, a basket with lining, rear-view mirrors, and a lock. The Meet One Tour e-trike is priced at US$3,599, currently with a $300 discount. Optional accessories include a spare battery and Bluetooth tracker.
If the Tour is out of budget, Meet One’s single-motor, dual-battery Breeze model is available for $1,299. For more information, visit the Meet One Tour product page.
