England Defeats Canada 21-12 to Retain the WXV1 Crown: Red Roses Triumph in Rugby Union News

England defeated Canada 21-12 to successfully defend their title in the WXV1 final in Vancouver on Sunday.

Despite facing strong pressure from the Canadian hosts, the Red Roses managed to extend their winning streak to 20 games with a nine-point margin.

Canada took an early lead with a penalty, but England quickly bounced back.

Zoe Aldcroft, Sarah Bern, and Maud Muir scored tries for the defending champions, while Helen Rowland added three conversions.

Despite Canada taking the lead with a penalty conversion in the second half, they were unable to maintain their momentum.

England faced a challenge in the second half when full-back Ellie Kildunne received a yellow card, leaving them short-handed.

After a tough battle between the two teams, Bern regained the lead for England by breaking through a Canadian tackle and scoring a try.

Aldcroft sealed the victory for England with a late try, maintaining their unbeaten streak since the 2022 World Cup defeat to New Zealand.
