Exclusive: WWE Legend shares jaw-dropping revelation about The Undertaker’s time in Iraq

The legendary Undertaker ruled the WWE for an astonishing 30 years. His epic rivalries with iconic figures such as Kane, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and others cemented his status as one of the greatest in the business. The stories surrounding ‘Taker are truly legendary.

During a recent episode of What Were They Thinking? on Backstage Pass, JBL shared a remarkable anecdote about The Undertaker in Iraq. The Hall of Famer mentioned that they had their photos taken inside Saddam Hussain’s palace during their visit to Baghdad:

“We actually stayed in Saddam Hussein’s palace. There’s a famous picture of me and Undertaker sitting on Saddam Hussein’s throne in the palace.” [09:33 onwards]

On the podcast, JBL also disclosed that he and The Undertaker were invited to play golf by US soldiers on Saddam Hussein’s porch when WWE visited Iraq in the 2000s:

A former WWE writer recently criticized JBL for his remarks HERE

“We were at Saddam Hussein’s palace in Iraq. We usually stayed at the forward operating bases and not in the Green Zone. I asked Undertaker if he wanted to join in because something interesting was going on. A soldier had some golf balls from the USO and took us to Hussein’s porch to hit golf balls with them. It was an amazing experience where we hit golf balls from Saddam Hussein’s porch into his lake.” [From 25:45 onwards]

Although JBL didn’t mention the winner of the golf game, it was evident that the former WWE Champion had a fantastic time.
