COOK FOREST, Pa. — On Sunday, July 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., adventurers and history lovers alike are invited to experience the rich past of Cook Forest firsthand during the Fire Tower / Seneca Point Historical Tour.

The Journey Begins at the Fire Tower Parking Lot

Participants will meet at the Fire Tower Parking Lot, where DCNR Conservation Volunteer Greg Burns will lead a captivating interpretive hike. Armed with binoculars and curiosity, guests will traverse scenic trails to two iconic landmarks—the Fire Tower and Seneca Point—while gaining fascinating insights into the area’s past.

Rediscover the Roots of the Forest

This guided exploration will dive into the region’s logging heritage, revealing stories of how the forests were shaped by early industry. Along the way, you’ll learn how to recognize signs of past Native American presence, adding layers of historical depth to the landscape.

A View Worth the Climb

The highlight of the tour includes climbing to the top of the Fire Tower for a panoramic view of the Clarion River Valley—a breathtaking reward for the adventurous.
