Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has spent years raising concerns about the safety of vaccines and associating them with autism.

Numerous studies have disproven this theory, yet it continues to be a topic of discussion. A part of the issue may stem from the rising autism diagnoses over recent decades.

Dr. Allen Frances, a psychiatrist who led the team that revised the fourth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, suggests that this revised definition of Autism may have contributed to the increase.

The rates of autism have seen a dramatic rise in recent years. Could the shifting definition of autism be a contributing factor?
