A priority in the Football Association’s new four-year strategy for women and girls is to win a second major trophy for the Lionesses by 2028.
After their first major tournament title at the European Championship in 2022, England will defend it next summer in Switzerland following their qualifying success in July. They reached a World Cup final for the first time in 2023 and will strive for victory when Brazil hosts the tournament in 2027.
FA women’s technical director Kay Cossington emphasized the importance of meticulous planning for the upcoming Euro and World Cup tournaments, highlighting the need for clear strategies that enhance performance under pressure.
Ensuring that players in the pathway are both physically and mentally prepared is a key aspect of their strategic approach, according to Cossington.
