Female golfers celebrate as LPGA bans post-puberty males from competing in women’s tournaments: ‘Finally!’

Numerous female golfers spoke out in support and celebration of the LPGA’s recent rule change, which prohibits post-pubescent males from competing against females in professional golf tournaments.

The LPGA announced that male players who have undergone male puberty are ineligible to compete in the LPGA Tour, Epson Tour, Ladies European Tour, and other top LPGA competitions starting in the 2025 season.

“Players assigned male at birth and who have undergone male puberty are not permitted to participate in the aforementioned events,” the organization stated. “The policies for the LPGA’s recreational programs and non-elite events are based on different criteria to offer opportunities for broader participation in the LPGA community.”

Miller expressed gratitude for the LPGA and USGA’s decision, emphasizing the importance of fair competition for women in professional golf.

Despite some opposition from liberals and trans rights activists, the rule change received support from the female golfing community.

Transgender golfer Hailey Davidson expressed disappointment at being excluded from future LPGA competitions due to the new policy.

Opposing viewpoints were also raised by Olivia Schmidt, urging the LPGA to protect female athletes like herself from competing against trans athletes.

The LPGA’s decision has been praised for prioritizing fair competition and gender distinctions in sports.
