Five additional judicial nominees of Biden are approved by Democrats

The Senate Judiciary Committee advanced five more of President Biden’s judicial nominees on Thursday, with plans for them to move to the Senate floor soon.

Democrats confirmed Biden’s 220th federal court appointment on Wednesday and hope to increase that number before Thanksgiving. Some Republican opposition led to the delay of some nominees, but several were confirmed when GOP senators were absent.

President-elect Trump criticized Democrats for trying to “stack the Courts” with left-leaning appointees and called on Republicans to be vigilant.

“No more Judges confirmed before Inauguration Day!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Democrats are rushing to confirm more of Biden’s nominees before Trump’s return and the incoming Republican Senate majority. The nominees advanced on Thursday include Anthony Brindisi, Elizabeth Coombe, Sarah Davenport, Tiffany Johnson, and Keli Neary for various federal court positions.

In addition, Miranda Holloway-Baggett was also advanced as a nominee for United States Marshal for the Southern District of Alabama.

A bipartisan agreement was reached on Wednesday to allow Trump to appoint four crucial appellate court judges as Democrats confirm judges to lower courts.

SENATE GOP INITIATES THUNE-ENGINEERED SLOWDOWN AS SCHUMER LOOKS TO STACK JUDICIAL VOTES

Republicans agreed to halt procedural delays and permit Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., to hold votes on district court judges in exchange for pulling circuit court judicial nominees, a Senate source told Fox News Digital.

Trump will fill higher court vacancies as Democrats confirm lower court judges.

Under the agreement, the Senate will vote on Biden’s nominees this week and confirm judges after Thanksgiving, according to a Democratic source.

Several nominations, including Amir Ali for the District of Columbia, were confirmed, with more votes scheduled.

A Senate slowdown led by Republicans prompted the deal, spearheaded by Senate Minority Whip John Thune, R-S.D., in response to Schumer’s efforts to confirm judges quickly.

Thune emphasized Republican opposition to expedited confirmations in an exclusive statement to Fox News Digital.
