Former Century 21 agent Stephanie Lovins is now under fire after allegedly writing a note, stating “I hope Trump deports you” on a restaurant receipt, after growing angry over a coupon, the Latin Times reported Tuesday.
Lovins, who worked for Worthington, Ohio-based Century 21 Excellence Realty, reportedly left the offensive message on a receipt at Cazuelas Mexican Restaurant in Columbia, Ohio over the weekend. According to reports, she also wrote, “You suck” and left “Zero” in the tip line before signing off on the deportation remark geared toward server Ricardo.
A coworker at Cazuelas later shared a picture of the receipt on X, where it quickly went viral. WCMH reported that the post racked up more than 8,000 likes in less than 24 hours.
As the backlash grew, Lovins tried to clear her name on X, saying the situation stemmed from a lost credit card and an attempted purchase gone wrong, but the damage was done.
Century 21 shared a statement with Inman confirming that Lovins was once affiliated with the company but departed in January before the incident. It is unclear when or why the agent left. A spokesperson for Century 21 did not immediately provide details.
“We are aware of the situation with the agent in question,” the spokesperson told Inman on Tuesday. “Hate has no place within the CENTURY 21 brand, and we are taking this very seriously. After investigating the situation, we can confirm that this agent is no longer affiliated with the brand and has not been since prior to this incident.”
Fabio Oribo, head of marketing at Czuelas, reportedly told WCMH that Ricardo is a hardworking employee who only works at the restaurant on Sundays. According to Oribo, Lovins was unhappy about a coupon or something of that nature. However, the restaurant has zero tolerance for that kind of behavior.
“This is just a space for being inclusive and there’s no space for hate inside Cazuelas,” Oribo told WCMH.
This incident comes amid ongoing national debates over immigration following President Donald Trump’s strict policies on deportation and border security. Vice President JD Vance’s said the goal for deportations sits around 1 million people per year.
