What is it that feels so soft and sexy about pointelle? I’ve spotted pretty pieces all over recently, and I’d love to pull one on as an everyday layer and for daytime dates. Here are five: cardigan, henley, top, v-neck, sweater.
Have you seen the Netflix show Mo? The comedy-drama follows Mo Najjar (Mohammad Amer), a Palestinian refugee in Houston who’s trying to figure out work and love, while seeking asylum with his mom, sister and brother. The second season, which premieres on Thursday, kicks off with Mo in Mexico, where he accidentally ended up after hiding in a van. Watch the trailer, above; it’s a brilliant show and more timely than ever.
Wow, the colors of this Manhattan one-bedroom are gorgeous! “I’m sure one day, if I’m gone, they’ll turn it into a two-bedroom and…make everything white and gray,” says Tarajia Morrell, who rents the apartment with her daughter. “So, I lean into how colorful and splintery it is and enjoy that so much.” (NYTimes gift link)
Finally, how amazing is Sandrine Torredemer’s artwork? Our friend Ali LaBelle posted about her today — apparently, the French artist learned to embroider at age five with her grandmother and great-grandmother. “What was a passion has almost become a necessity,” Torredemer told the Guardian. “It is a very good way to escape from the world a little.”
P.S. More fun things, and what have Cup of Jo readers taught you?
