INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana Health Fair is returning to the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis this July, offering free health screenings and resources to promote healthier living.
The event, which coincides with the WNBA All-Star Weekend, will take place from July 17 to July 20 and aims to increase awareness and prevention of chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, hypertension and cancer.
“It provides individuals with access to screenings and services they might not otherwise pursue or be able to obtain,” Antoniette Holt, Division Director of the office of Minority Health, explained.
This year marks the 39th anniversary of the Indiana Health Fair, and organizers are excited to continue offering over $4,000 worth of free health care screenings.
Attendees can expect a variety of health services, including cancer screenings, glucose checks, A1C tests, PSA tests, thyroid checks, and full lipid panels for cholesterol. Immunizations will also be available, and attendees can obtain birth certificates at the event.
Entertainment will be provided on the WNBA entertainment stage, and a special ladies night will feature topics ranging from nutrition to women’s health, along with raffles and gifts.
The fair is designed to be a family-friendly event, with activities for children and opportunities for sports physicals for kids returning to school.
The Indiana Health Fair continues to be a vital resource for the community, offering essential health screenings and education in a fun and engaging environment. Organizers hope the event will encourage proactive health measures among attendees.
