Jim Phillips says he has had frequent conversations with other P4 commissioners on conference scheduling. “I like where we’re at with 8 games because of the type of caliber of nonconference games we’re playing, but we’ll adjust if we have to.”

Asked Mario Cristobal if Miami has had any deals flagged by the Deloitte clearinghouse/CSC on the first few weeks of its existence:

Rhett Lashlee doing some indirect defending of the perceived strength of the ACC:
“The SEC has had the same six schools win the championship since 1964. Not a single one has been different since 1964.
“That’s top-heavy to me. That’s not depth.”

Carson Beck on following Cam Ward: “What he was able to do is undeniable, the last school I was at I followed the two-time national champion and I really didn’t feel any pressure there.”

“I’m looking forward to joining ACC Network and the Huddle team this season. I’ve always had tremendous respect for this conference, and I’m looking forward to breaking down the action each week with such a talented group.”
