Justin Thomas shined in his TGL debut as he led Atlanta Drive GC to a resounding 4-0 victory over New York Golf Club in their season opener.
Teaming up with former FedExCup champions Billy Horschel and Patrick Cantlay, Thomas showcased his skill in the tech-infused team league where PGA Tour stars compete inside an indoor arena.
The two-time major champion guided his team to an early lead, which they maintained throughout the competition at the TGL Sofi Center. They secured two points in the first nine-hole session, using an alternate shot format.
Thomas leads Atlanta to winning start
New York GC immediately fell behind when Young hit his opening shot out of bounds, allowing Atlanta Drive to take the lead. The match progressed with Atlanta Drive maintaining their advantage, with Thomas and Horschel making key shots to secure the win.
Atlanta Drive opted not to use ‘The Hammer’ throughout the match, ensuring a shutout victory despite some missed opportunities. Cantlay, Thomas, and Horschel showcased their skills and teamwork, ultimately leading their team to victory.

Rory McIlroy will debut in the TGL on Monday as his Boston Common Golf team faces Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links Golf Club. The action will be live on Sky Sports Golf, starting at 11.30pm.
Atlanta Drive GC continues with two matches on February 17 against Los Angeles GC and The Bay Golf Club. New York GC will play their next match on February 18 against Jupiter Links.
