Google Chat is introducing instant voice meetings similar to Slack’s Huddles, allowing users to easily switch to a voice or video call from within a chat. Google has decided to keep the feature’s name as “Huddles.”
To start a huddle in Google Chat, simply click on the drop-down menu next to the call icon and choose the “Start the huddle” option.
By default, the call will be a voice call, but users can switch to video or share their screens, similar to Google Meet.
This feature, announced by Google last year as part of the Google Chat update, is now rolling out and will be available to all Workspace users in the coming weeks.
