Vice President Kamala Harris has reached out to former President Donald Trump and acknowledged the election results in a letter to her campaign staff, emphasizing the need to protect America from the impacts of a Trump Presidency.
In a letter obtained by Fox News, Harris revealed that she had a conversation with Trump “to ensure a peaceful transfer of power, unlike what we saw in 2020.”
The letter goes on to express gratitude towards the campaign staff for their hard work and dedication, highlighting the challenges they faced and the historical significance of their efforts.
Harris also conveyed her hope for Trump to be a President for all Americans.

“You faced unprecedented challenges, but your work made a difference, especially in the battleground states where the race was closest. I acknowledge the scale of the challenge we couldn’t overcome,” Harris wrote.

Harris is scheduled to make public remarks at Howard University in Washington, D.C. later today.
“Losing is incredibly difficult, but we must now focus on protecting America from the impacts of a Trump Presidency,” Harris promised.

“I know the Vice President isn’t giving up, and I believe the people on this email will play key roles in this common goal. This is just the beginning, not the end. It will be tough but rewarding work,” as Harris stated.
Trump’s campaign communications director Steven Cheung released a statement regarding Harris’ conversation with Trump.
“President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris spoke earlier today, where she congratulated him on his victory,” Cheung mentioned. “Both leaders agreed on the importance of unity and working together.”
President Biden later contacted Vice President Harris and congratulated her on a historic campaign, as reported by Fox News senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy.
Following his conversation with Harris, Biden also talked with Trump and congratulated him on his victory.
Biden expressed his dedication to a seamless transition and stressed the importance of bringing the country together.

He invited President-elect Trump for a meeting at the White House in the near future, with the staff coordinating the details.
Biden will address the nation on Thursday about the election results and the transition process.
Trump emerged victorious over Vice President Harris, who joined the race just over 100 days ago after Biden withdrew from the primaries.
Trump will be the second president to serve two nonconsecutive terms since Grover Cleveland in 1884 and 1892.
