Highlights from June 27, 2025: Sheridan Media’s Key Stories


Sheridan, Buffalo, Big Horn and Tongue River To Represent At WCA All-Star Games: The North All-Stars will have a lot of flavor from North-Central Wyoming on their teams.

A total of 7 athletes and 3 coaches from Sheridan, Big Horn, Tongue River and Buffalo will play for the North teams in the 2025 Wyoming Coaches Association All-Star Volleyball and Basketball games on Saturday, July 26th at Casper College.

The games are for recently graduated players only.

Naomi Andersen and Kailee Holst (Sheridan), Emme Mullinax (BH), McKinlee Scammon (TR), and Grace Finkle (Buffalo), along with TR Head Coach Kristen Masters (North Head Coach), will participate in the volleyball game that starts at 1pm.

Paxten Aksamit (TR) as well as Buffalo Head Coach Farrah Patterson (North Head Coach) and Buffalo Assistant Head Coach Kelley Nelson (North Assistant Coach), will participate in the girls basketball game that starts at 3pm.

Brady Engling of Buffalo will participate in the boys basketball game that starts at 5pm.


Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers lost both games yesterday to start play at a tournament in Billings, Montana.

The first game was against Parker, Colorado 8-6, and the second game was to the Billings Scarlets 5-2.

Sheridan is back on the field at 10am today vs. Great Falls, and will play tomorrow at 3pm, against the Black Gold 47s from Alberta, Canada.

Sunday’s game is to be announced.


NBA Draft: Round 2 of the draft was last night and another Mountain West Conference player heard his name.

Kobe Sanders of Nevada was originally called by the New York Knicks, but then a short time later he was traded to the LA Clippers.

This past season he averaged 15.8 points per game, while shooting 46% from the field.


Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies were swept at home by the LA Dodgers, losing yesterday 3-1.

Brenton Doyle’s solo home run provided the one.

With the loss, Colorado is now officially halfway through their season schedule, with a record of 18-63, and are 32 ½ games out of first place in the NL West.

The Rocks start a 3-game series today at Milwaukee,

First pitch is scheduled for 6:10pm.

Tomorrow’s game starts at 2:10pm and Sunday’s game at 12:10pm.
