Historic 2025/26 Season: Every Premiership Women’s Rugby Match to be Broadcast Live

Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) is set to make broadcasting history in the 2025/26 season, with confirmation that each and every one of the 75 matches will be shown live throughout the campaign. This is a first for the league and a major step forward for the women’s game in England.

The announcement follows the unveiling of a new partnership between the PWR and the BBC, adding to the existing deal with TNT Sports. Starting this coming season, fans will be able to watch every PWR fixture either on television or via online streaming, with every fixture airing on either TNT Sports, BBC or online via the PWR’s official YouTube.

Each weekend, TNT Sports will show the ‘first-pick’ match, offering high-quality coverage of the most anticipated clashes. The BBC will then broadcast a second fixture weekly, further expanding the reach of the women’s side of the sport to a mainstream audience. Crucially, all remaining matches will be streamed live on the official PWR YouTube channel, meaning supporters will have free and easy access to top-flight women’s rugby no matter where they are.

This new broadcasting arrangement not only ensures unprecedented visibility for all clubs and players in the league, but also reflects the growing momentum and demand around women’s rugby. For the first time, fans won’t have to miss a moment of the action, from blockbuster derbies to key title deciders, the 2025/26 PWR season will have coverage like never before.

The commitment to full live coverage is a significant leap forward in accessibility, promotion, and investment in the sport. It signals PWR’s intent to drive growth, increase engagement, and build a larger, more connected fanbase.

Genevieve Shore, Executive Chair of Premiership Women’s Rugby, said: “This is a huge step forward for the visibility of our league and the incredible athletes who light it up week after week.

“Making all matches available live, across TNT Sports, BBC Sport and YouTube, means more fans can connect with our game. It’s an unprecedented opportunity to showcase the quality, passion and competitiveness of Premiership Women’s Rugby to the widest possible audience.

“We know that visibility drives engagement and inspires participation. By making every match live, we’re not just creating a better experience for fans, we’re helping build the future of women’s rugby from grassroots to elite level.

“The PWR is the best women’s club rugby competition in the world, and we can’t wait to show that to more people than ever before.”

Rugby fans can tune in to the action starting with the opening weekend of the 2025 season, on 25-26 October, where all four unmissable matches will be broadcast across TNT Sports, BBC Sport and YouTube.
