Insider suggests potential blockbuster trade involving Elias Pettersson and $2,590,002 Wild forward

The current talk of the town in the world of hockey is the reported discord between Vancouver Canucks’ star forwards Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller. Speculations and rumors are swirling around the NHL community and fans.

Sportnet’s Ryan Dixon recently suggested various potential blockbuster trades involving the Swedish center. Dixon mentioned the Minnesota Wild as a possible landing spot for Pettersson, noting that the team has been in need of a top center for their offense.

He also brought up trade rumors surrounding Minnesota’s current top center, Marco Rossi, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

“Marco Rossi’s name has been in trade rumors recently, much like Pettersson’s. Rossi’s recent performance with 13 points in 12 games, although eight came in a three-game streak, may have quieted talks about him leaving the Wild,” Dixon wrote.

Dixon drew parallels between Pettersson’s situation and that of former NHL players like Joe Thornton and Zdeno Chara. He also highlighted the Carolina Hurricanes, Buffalo Sabres, and Anaheim Ducks as potential trade destinations for Pettersson.

NHL analyst favors keeping Elias Pettersson over J.T. Miller in Vancouver

In a recent segment on Sportsnet, commentator Sam Cosentino suggested that the Vancouver Canucks should explore trading J.T. Miller instead of Elias Pettersson. Cosentino believes that Miller should be the one to be moved and expressed doubt about resolving the rift between the two star players.

He pointed out Miller’s marketability due to his $8 million cap hit, versatility on the ice, and solid playoff performance. Cosentino suggested that trading Miller could help the Canucks address the situation effectively.

“I propose that it’s Miller who gets traded, freeing up Pettersson and allowing the team to move forward more positively,” he stated.

Rumors of a conflict between the 31-year-old Miller and 26-year-old Pettersson have been circulating for the past eight weeks.
