The new Lemokey L5 HE 8K Keyboard is designed for ultra-competitive gamers and tournament action.
Lemokey, the sub-brand of keyboard giant Keychron, has announced the launch of its brand-new Lemokey L5 HE 8K keyboard on Kickstarter. The L5 HE features magnetic switches that can be customized for high-level gaming.
The wired L5 HE 8K keyboard has a 75% ANSI layout and uses ultra-low-latency technology for instant responsiveness, precision as well as the ability to customize settings down to the individual key level.
The new keyboard has polling and scan rates of 8,000Hz. Each key is monitored thousands of times per second to ensure no key press is missed. Keys can be set with adjustable actuation points which can be activated using anything from the lightest touch to the heaviest of presses.
Featuring a robust full-metal design, the new L5 HE 8K provides accuracy and durability, but with a cyberpunk aesthetic that should make it the kind of keyboard that serious gamers might enjoy.

For competitive gamers who take part in high-level e-sport tournaments, speed and precision are paramount. Many traditional keyboards can suffer from latency issues and inconsistent key actuation and can’t be customized. The result can be missed actions and lost opportunities because every millisecond counts when playing for high stakes where even the smallest delay or error could be the difference between winning or losing.
The Lemokey L5 HE 8K has been specifically designed to provide gamers with a competitive edge thanks to the sue of Hall Effect magnetic switches. These non-contact switches are more durable than mechanical switches and can be set with variable actuation points for a improved responsiveness that suits various gaming styles.
The ultra-low latency performance from the 8K polling and scan rates enable the L5 HE 8K to achieve a latency as low as 0.125ms. This means immediate keystroke registration and each key can be individually adjusted for sensitivity to detect movements as small as 0.01mm.
Even the best gamers sometimes can’t resist trigger finger and the L5 HE 8K has Rapid Trigger Functionality to take care of that. Keys can be activated and deactivated based on their travel distance, enabling a seamless repetition of keystrokes.
Lemokey’s L5 HE 8K keyboard has a 75% ANSI layout and also features a volume knob.
Other features in the new keyboard include Dynamic Keystrokes and Multi-Action Keys. This is where up to four actions are able to be assigned to a single key based on how far down the key is pressed. This means the keyboard can be personalized with different control settings for complex gaming strategies.
Last Keystroke Prioritization is another new feature on the L5 HE 8K that ensures smooth directional changes, while Snap Click prioritizes the deeper key presses during simultaneous actions. Gamers still need to hone their dexterity and game plans to make the most of these advanced functions.
To customize the keyboard, users can access Lemokey Launcher, a web-based configurator that can remap any key, create and assign macros and customize the North-facing RGB backlights with 22 different dynamic lighting modes which can be set on an individual key basis.
Of course, no game is complete without a bit of joystick action and the L5 HE 8K includes something called Analog Joystick Mode which provides smooth and more comfortable control for clutch movements.

Gaming keyboards take a lot of punishment so they must be up to tournament-level standard. The L5 HE 8K has a durable design with a CNC-machined aluminum body and its keycaps have a Cherry Profile and are double-shot construction made from PBT for a longer service life. Pre-lubed, plate-mounted stabilizers are incorporated to reduce key wobble when typing.
Finally, the Lemokey L5 HE 8K features switchable top and gasket mounts which can be easily swapped between the top mount and gasket mount at any time. The idea behind this feature is to enable gamers to set the specific feel to match their gaming style.
