Iran Cautions President Trump to Show Respect for Supreme Leader or Face Repercussions

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned President Donald Trump on Friday to abandon what he deemed a “disrespectful” tone toward Tehran’s supreme leader or face serious repercussions.

In a straightforward post on X, Araghchi stated that if Trump genuinely seeks a deal with Iran, he must demonstrate respect rather than insult Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Araghchi urged Trump to “put aside the disrespectful and unacceptable tone” toward Khamenei and “stop hurting [Khamenei’s] millions of dedicated followers.”

IRAN’S SUPREME LEADER SLAMS TRUMP JUST DAYS AFTER US STRIKES ON NUCLEAR SITES

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei speaks Thursday in a televised speech under a portrait of the late revolutionary founder Ayatollah Khomeini.

Araghchi expressed, “The complexity and tenacity of Iranians is famously known in our magnificent carpets, woven through countless hours of hard work and patience. But as a people, our basic premise is very simple and straightforward: we know our worth, value our independence, and never allow anyone else to decide our destiny.”

His most provocative statement mocked Israel’s reliance on the U.S. during the recent military conflict.

“The Great and Powerful Iranian People, who showed the world that the Israeli regime had NO CHOICE but to RUN to ‘Daddy’ to avoid being flattened by our Missiles,” he said, referring to U.S. intervention in striking Iranian nuclear sites.

This comment was a pointed reference to the longstanding U.S. and Israeli alliance, attempting to portray Israel as dependent.

The post ended with a clear warning.

“If Illusions lead to worse mistakes, Iran will not hesitate to unveil its Real Capabilities, which will certainly END any Delusion about the Power of Iran. Good will begets good will, and respect begets respect.”

IRAN’S KHAMENEI LAUNCHES BLISTERING ATTACK ON TRUMP AFTER MIDDLE EAST VISIT

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi took to X on Friday with a message for President Trump.

Araghchi’s comments came just days after the war between Iran and Israel concluded and less than a week after U.S. airstrikes ordered by Trump destroyed critical Iranian nuclear sites including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

The 12-day conflict wrapped up on June 24 under a U.S.-brokered ceasefire, yet tensions remain elevated. Khamenei declared that Tehran had prevailed over Israel and even delivered a “slap” to Washington during the confrontation.

Trump dismissed Khamenei’s claims of victory as false and “foolish.” He immediately froze discussions regarding sanctions relief for Iran and asserted he personally prevented Khamenei from being killed during the conflict, writing on Truth Social that he would not allow U.S. or Israeli forces to “terminate” the ayatollah despite knowing his whereabouts.

Araghchi also dismissed Trump’s recent assertions of imminent nuclear talks, telling reporters that “there are no negotiations underway” and that Tehran would act “based on our national interests.”

According to Reuters, he firmly denied any upcoming meeting with U.S. officials, contradicting Trump’s earlier suggestions that diplomacy was progressing.

“I wish the leadership of Iran would realize that you often get more with HONEY than you do with VINEGAR,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “PEACE!!!”
