Is the bride coming on national television?
That’s what everyone is asking.
Recently, Joan Vassos finished her run as The Golden Bachelorette by accepting a proposal from Chock Chapple.
Yes, that’s his real name.
“I never thought I’d find love like this again,” said Vassos after Chock proposed in Bora Bora on the November 13 finale of the series.
So, how are things between the couple now?
Seemingly good, as Joan and Chock are still together and are committed to their future — something many couples can’t say after getting engaged on a show like this.
They intend to get married, just not too quickly.
“You won’t see a TV wedding in three months,” Joan says in the latest issue of Us Weekly.
Not long ago, Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist found love on The Golden Bachelor, got married on TV, and then got divorced.
“I liked Gerry and Theresa’s ending,” Joan added.
“The reason we’re not rushing into a wedding has nothing to do with them. I just don’t want more planning right now. When our wedding happens, whether on TV or not, it won’t be in three months.
“I just don’t want more planning right now. We’re enjoying being together, and want to take time to get to know each other’s families and friends.”
Joan and Chock plan to move to New York City together and continue their love story.
“Golden years are special. You get to enjoy life without raising a family or dealing with work. You can truly savor life,” Vassos shared with Us Weekly.
“Travel is important to us. Buying a home together one day. After John passed away, I felt lost about the future. But now, it looks bright. There are endless possibilities for us.
“It’s strange to think this way at our age, but I do feel that way.”
