American journalist Ryan Grim suggests that Israel may be taking a risk by refusing a ceasefire in Gaza, even if it is just to please Trump.
According to Ryan Grim, co-founder of Drop Site News, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu placed his political future on hold in anticipation of President-elect Donald Trump taking office.
Grim explains to host Steve Clemons that Netanyahu’s strategy paid off, and now he may find it difficult to turn down a ceasefire after January 20 – the day of Trump’s inauguration. Trump has warned that “all hell will break out” in the Middle East if he doesn’t get his way.
“The bigger question is whether the ceasefire will actually hold or if it’s just announced for Trump to celebrate and move on,” Grim says.
