Is Travis Hunter a Lock for the 2024 Heisman Trophy?

Week 14 of the college football season was filled with upsets, highlight-reel plays, and plenty of outstanding individual performances.

Colorado standout Travis Hunter continues to dominate the Heisman leaderboard — so much so that you have to wonder if anyone can challenge him at this point — while a former Ohio State quarterback found himself in the mix after leading a stunning upset in ACC action.

Meanwhile, Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty had another impressive outing in the Broncos’ win over Oregon State.

Here is a look at the current Heisman Trophy odds following a jam-packed Week 14.

Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado: -10000

Hunter did all he could to lock up college football’s top individual award with another incredible performance this week. The Colorado two-way star finished with 10 receptions for 116 yards and three touchdowns on offense, while adding another interception on defense – his fourth of the season.

“Travis clinched the Heisman today with his performance,” Colorado coach Deion Sanders said after his team cruised to a 52-0 win over Oklahoma State on Friday.

Hunter is the heavy favorite heading into conference championship week. He has now totaled 92 catches for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns, which moved him past Nelson Spruce for the most by a Colorado wide receiver in a single season.

Travis Hunter vs. Ashton Jeanty: Who wins the Heisman?

Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State: +2500

Jeanty closed out the regular season with a massive performance in Boise State’s 34-18 win over Oregon State. The Broncos’ junior running back carried the ball 37 times for 226 yards and a touchdown in the victory. He has now rushed for 2,288 yards through 12 games, moving into fifth place among FBS all-time single-season rushing leaders. Jeanty trails record-holder Barry Sanders, who rushed for 2,628 yards back in 1988, by 340 yards with at least two more games guaranteed.

Next: Jeanty and the Broncos will play in the Mountain West Championship Game on Dec. 6.

Kyle McCord, QB, Syracuse: +15000

McCord, the former Ohio State quarterback, led the Orange to a huge 42-38 upset of Miami, a win that knocked the Hurricanes out of the ACC Championship game. McCord completed 26 of 36 passes for 380 yards and three touchdowns. He also had a chance to send a message to his former Buckeyes teammates after their stunning loss to Michigan — remember that Ohio State brought in Will Howard as QB last offseason to replace McCord. “Everything comes full circle,” McCord said.

Rocco Becht, QB, Iowa State: +15000

Becht, a sophomore signal-caller, only completed 13 of his 35 passes for 137 yards in Saturday’s 29-21 victory over Kansas State. But two of those completions went for touchdowns, and he also rushed for 35 yards and another touchdown on the ground. More important, the Cyclones earned the win, giving themselves a chance to make the Big 12 Championship Game.

Dillon Gabriel, QB, Oregon: +40000

Gabriel and the No. 1 Ducks had already clinched a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game, but that didn’t stop them from making a statement in a 49-21 rout of rival Washington. Gabriel was 16-for-23 passing for 209 yards and two touchdowns in the game, adding 20 yards and another touchdown on the ground.
