It has been 61 days since Kamala Harris became the Democratic nominee and she still hasn’t held a formal press conference

After 61 days as the presumptive and official Democratic nominee for president, Vice President Kamala Harris has yet to hold an official press conference. Despite pressure to do so, she ended her interview drought with a pre-taped piece with CNN and has since done more interviews with various outlets.

President Trump, on the other hand, has been more accessible to the media, holding multiple news conferences and interviews. Harris has given solo interviews and discussions but has not committed to a traditional press conference.

Conservative Radio Libre host, Jorge Bonilla, believes Harris should hold a press conference but notes that the media’s leniency towards her actions undermines the importance of accountability.

In an interview, Harris was criticized for her vague economic policy answers, drawing attention to the contrast in media availability between her and Trump.

Despite the expectation for Harris to engage with the media more, her approach seems to prioritize maintaining the illusion of accessibility while remaining largely inaccessible.
