MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A hospital in the Montgomery area announced it will host an event catered to high school and college students who are looking to learn or want a career change.
Jackson Hospital will present a Healthcare Career Fair. The event is geared to help all students explore various career opportunities in healthcare.
“For many young individuals unsure of their path forward, we want to inspire them to think about a healthcare career,” said Ron Dreskin, Jackson Hospital Chief Executive Officer. “The hospital offers many opportunities for dedicated people in administration, dietary, clinical roles, IT, and more, and many do not require a college degree.”
The event will be held on Tuesday, July 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jackson Hospital. This is located on 1725 Pine Street.
All students will have a chance to meet healthcare professionals and learn about the different training paths and scholarships Jackson has to offer.
Representatives from more than 20 departments will be there to discuss the types of jobs available, the level of education needed, and how to get started. Students will also be able to participate in mock interviews and discover current job openings, as Human Resources staff will be in attendance.
Dreskin added that he encourages students to consider a healthcare career that makes a difference in the community.
