Jennifer Lopez appears to have reflected on her split from Ben Affleck.
However, her thoughts were not particularly deep.
On August 31, the talented singer/actress posted several selfies and alluring photos on Instagram, with a caption that simply read:
“Oh, it’s been a summer.”
When it comes to Lopez’s personal life, this statement seems like an understatement.
The celebrity spent very little time with her estranged husband, leading to rumors of an imminent breakup weeks ago.
Lopez and Affleck even put their house up for sale in June, indicating that divorce was inevitable.
Despite this, J. Lo seems to have entrusted her romantic destiny to a higher power.
“Everything is unfolding in divine order,” she mentioned in her recent social media post.
This message comes 11 days after Lopez filed for divorce after just two years of marriage.
In her filing, Lopez cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, listing the date of separation as April 26 and requesting no spousal support for either herself or Ben.
The A-list couple was engaged in 2004 but later ended their relationship, moving on to other partners before rekindling their romance in 2021 and tying the knot in July 2022.
It initially seemed like a fairytale love story.
Sadly, the fairytale turned into a nightmare, with some reports suggesting issues arose during their honeymoon.
By the end, Affleck, who has not commented publicly on the divorce, seemed disengaged.
“Ben left the filing and the divorce in Jen’s hands, almost like a parting gift,” a source told In Touch Weekly. “He really doesn’t care and gave up a long time ago.”
Although this ending is unfortunate, it is not the most disappointing chapter in the Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck saga. Fans of the movie “Gigli” know what we mean.
