MSNBC host Joy Reid stated on Monday that the Trump administration’s transition to power after the 2024 election was “a violent transfer of power” and “the most violent in U.S. history.”
“You can’t peacefully transfer power to an insurrectionist,” she added on “The ReidOut.”
Reid played clips from the Capitol riots on Jan. 6, 2021, emphasizing the seriousness of the events and criticizing those who downplay them.

“It’s also a lie,” she added. “It’s a lie most Republicans and even some in the media want to tell you, because it makes Republicans feel better.”
Reid criticized Republicans and conservative media for downplaying the events of Jan. 6 and emphasized the seriousness of the insurrection.
