Were Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds responsible for Justin Baldoni being blacklisted at his agency and beyond?
Justin Baldoni might not fully grasp the repercussions of ‘damage control’ efforts. In the midst of a damning expose on his alleged smear campaign against Blake Lively, he’s taken legal action against The New York Times. One part of his lawsuit alleges that Lively and Reynolds pressured his agency to drop him.
There’s a significant issue, however. The agency in question has outright denied Baldoni’s claims.
Did Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds get Justin Baldoni dropped by his agency?
Similar to long weekends, the winter holiday season is a prime time for significant news to unfold when individuals are less attentive.
In the closing weeks of December 2024, a shocking report surfaced on Justin Baldoni’s alleged orchestration of a social media campaign to tarnish It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively.
Why? Due to her filing a sexual harassment lawsuit against him. The details of her legal action are distressing enough without the added layer of a public smear campaign mostly on TikTok, an app that efficiently spreads misinformation.
Justin Baldoni is suing The New York Times alongside other complainants. His lawsuit accuses the paper of selective information reporting. He believes that the full context of his conversations would absolve him and portray him less as someone trying to sabotage the life and career of a woman accusing him of misconduct.
Additionally, Lively has filed a complaint alleging Baldoni’s sexual harassment and retaliatory actions. He purportedly engaged in inappropriate behavior on set, which included unscripted kissing scenes, graphic discussions of sexual acts, and mentions of a supposed “porn addiction” (a term deemed invalid).
In response, SAG-AFTRA and It Ends With Us author Colleen Hoover have expressed their support for Lively. Lively, in turn, is suing Baldoni for media manipulation similar to what was detailed in the NYT report. As for the newspaper, they stand by their article and intend to defend it in court.
