Salford Red Devils have officially announced that Kurt Haggerty will be taking over as head coach of the Betfred Super League team starting from the 2026 season in place of Paul Rowley.
Haggerty, who currently serves as the assistant coach, will be stepping into the role as Rowley transitions to the director of rugby position.
The 35-year-old has a history of working closely with Rowley, both as a player at Leigh and as a coach at Toronto Wolfpack.
He also briefly took the reins as interim head coach at Leigh during the 2021 Betfred Super League season, although the team was unable to avoid relegation.
“Upon joining the club in 2022, I could see a clear strategy and vision in place for the future of the team,” said Haggerty.
“It’s incredibly exciting to witness the club’s progress and I am thrilled to be a part of this organization’s journey.
“I extend my gratitude to Paul King and the board of directors for entrusting me with the opportunity to lead the Red Devils.”
