Kylie Kelce Shares Experiences of Body-Shaming Based on Height

Kylie Kelce endured relentless bullying due to her height during her teenage years.

Recently, Kylie Kelce launched a highly popular podcast that quickly gained a large audience.

As the wife of former NFL player Jason Kelce, she is now revealing unknown aspects of her life to her fans.

One of these revelations includes the severe body shaming she faced for being tall.

Kylie Kelce was 5’10” as a high school freshman

Although 5-foot-10 might not seem tall in general (surely, that starts above 6 feet, right?), bullying during adolescence isn’t about reality but about targeting potential vulnerabilities.

In a recent episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast, Kylie Kelce discussed her experiences with body shaming and insecurities with Drew Afualo, a fellow tall woman and influencer.

With her father being 6-foot-9, Kylie never felt exceptionally tall at home, especially now that she is married to Jason Kelce, which makes her feel average-sized or even petite, surrounded by football players.

“I was bullied mercilessly by a few individuals,” she shared about her high school days.

Reflecting on those memories, Kylie Kelce recalled classmates insulting her by calling her “huge” and like “a man” due to her height.

It wasn’t until her senior year that she shifted her perspective and understood the intentions behind the hurtful comments.

‘I had to switch the narrative’

“It took me until probably my senior year to be like, ‘Aw, you’re mad that you’re not my size,'” Kylie wisely pointed out.

She then began to see these insults as backhanded compliments of sorts.

“There was a period of time where I was like, ‘Don’t call me big.’ I would be like, ‘I’m not big, I’m tall,’ or, ‘My thighs aren’t big, I’m strong,'” she shared.

“I had to switch the narrative,” Kylie Kelce affirmed.

She emphasized the importance of not letting hurtful words affect her as intended.

It’s crucial to remember that body-shaming is always wrong, regardless of accuracy, and it’s essential not to internalize insults from bullies.

What is Kylie Kelce’s height today?

IMDB lists Kylie Kelce’s height as 5 feet, 11 inches today, which is above average but not exceptionally tall.

A valuable lesson to remember is not to dwell on insults from people who consider 5-foot-10 as “tall,” as they are likely dealing with their own insecurities.

Overall, it’s essential to not let the hurtful words of bullies affect self-esteem in any way.
