Authorities have revealed that a Tesla Cybertruck that exploded in front of Trump International Hotel Las Vegas contained gasoline, camp fuel containers, and large firework mortars. The explosion resulted in one fatality and seven injuries.
Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMahill shared during a press conference that they have identified the individual who rented the Cybertruck, which was obtained in Colorado. However, they are withholding the identity until they are completely certain.
McMahill also mentioned that investigators were able to track the truck through Tesla charging stations. The vehicle was first detected by license plate readers in Las Vegas and was seen traveling along Las Vegas Boulevard before arriving at the Trump hotel valet area.
Within seconds of pulling up to the hotel, the vehicle exploded.

During the press conference, a video of the truck bed was shown, revealing gasoline canisters, camp fuel canisters, and large firework mortars.
The exterior of the truck remained intact after the explosion, limiting the damage to the valet area as most of the blast went upwards through the Cybertruck.

Although the glass doors were undamaged, seven individuals sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. The hotel guests have been relocated as the investigation continues.
Jeremy Schwartz, the FBI acting special agent in charge in Las Vegas, declined to disclose the person inside the vehicle, emphasizing the importance of proper identification and the investigation into a potential terrorist act.
