Legacy Celebrated: England Unites in Joy After Lionesses’ Euro 2025 Victory Over Spain – Social Media Reactions

It was a dramatic fightback for England once again, as they fell behind in the first half, only to equalise in the second and battle to extra time.

Once again they were required to defend stoutly, and Chloe Kelly and Hannah Hampton produced the heroics to secure back-to-back Euro trophies.

English politicians raced to social media to praise the team for their efforts, with the Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner, and Leader of the Opposition Kemi Badenoch all congratulating the winners.

The Royal Family, too, were keen to share their thoughts, and with Prince William in attendance, it was no surprise to see the Aston Villa fan show his support.

Both teams gave warm messages to recognise the Lionesses’ success on Sunday.

Former TNT Sports pundit Rio Ferdinand made his feelings plain, and he was delighted to see what the men’s team have not yet been able to manage.

Some of the WSL’s biggest names were representing both Spain and England in the final in Switzerland, and the league’s biggest clubs congratulated the victors on their social media accounts.

With Arsenal’s Chloe Kelly scoring the winning penalty, celebrity Arsenal fans were not holding back.

Plenty of the public were delighted to witness yet more success for Sarina Wiegman’s team.

And perhaps the last word should go to a legend of English football, with 172 caps and 40 goals, who played for the national team for almost two decades: Fara Williams.
