LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — An evening of community pride, family fun, and public safety outreach returns to Lexington Park on Tuesday, August 5, as National Night Out takes over Nicolet Park for its fourth consecutive year. The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. and remains free and open to the public.
Co-hosted by the Lexington Park Business Association, Inc., and the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, the gathering is part of a nationwide initiative that promotes stronger relationships between neighborhoods and law enforcement. Organizers anticipate a turnout of up to 400 residents for the growing community tradition.
Nicolet Park will feature dozens of booths staffed by local organizations, businesses, and service providers offering interactive activities, games, giveaways, and information. Families will have access to free food, drinks, and ice cream, along with a full slate of attractions including music, lawn games, basketball, boxing, and a mobile library. The park’s spray area will be open from 5 to 6 p.m. for added summer fun.
Law enforcement and emergency personnel will be on site with public safety displays and equipment, providing residents an opportunity to engage with those who serve the Lexington Park community in a casual, welcoming environment.
Now in its fourth year, Lexington Park’s National Night Out continues to build momentum as a signature summer event. With expanded participation and new features each year, the evening serves as a platform for connection, outreach, and neighborhood visibility.
The event will take place at Nicolet Park, 21871 FDR Blvd., Lexington Park, MD 20653. Additional information, including donation and volunteer opportunities, can be found at lexba.org/LPNNO or on the event’s Facebook page. Donations of supplies can be made via SignUpGenius.
