Long Beach police record four stabbings within a 9-hour period in California

Long Beach, California, experienced four stabbings over the weekend within a nine-hour period, as reported by the police.

In response to the incidents that occurred on Saturday night and early Sunday morning, the Long Beach Police Department has increased its presence, according to City News Service.

“The LBPD will have additional police presence today, including patrol officers and Neighborhood Safety Bike Team officers, to engage with residents and businesses,” stated the Long Beach Police Department to Fox 11 on Sunday.

The first stabbing took place around 6:20 p.m. on Saturday in the 2000 block of East Pacific Coast Highway, where a man was stabbed multiple times in his upper body during a fight that stemmed from an argument. The suspects had already fled the scene when the police arrived.

The fourth stabbing was reported around 3 a.m. in the 5100 block of Second Street. Although this incident occurred at the same location as the second stabbing, the two events seem unrelated, according to the police.

During a dispute between a group of women, one female suspect punched the victim, while a second female suspect stabbed the victim in the upper body. The victim managed to go to the hospital and is in stable condition.
