Last month, Luke Combs and Eric Church hosted a concert to raise funds for Hurricane Helene relief. During the 2024 CMA Awards, Combs spoke about their efforts before introducing Church to perform.
Combs shared with the audience that he and Church raised over $24 million for Hurricane Helene victims in North Carolina, before Church sang his song, “Darkest Hour (Helene Edition).” Church had previously announced that all proceeds from the song would be donated to help hurricane victims.
Church’s emotional performance featured a choir and orchestra, accompanied by images on display showing the aftermath of the storm, relief efforts, and moments of unity and strength.

The impact of the hurricane hit close to home for both Combs and Church, who are North Carolina natives.
“I remember seeing footage of an area in western North Carolina that I recognized, but it was unrecognizable. It was heartbreaking to see the place I grew up in so devastated,” Church told Fox News Digital.
“It’s a very special place for me. I have so many memories there, and it’s heartbreaking to see it in such a state,” Combs added.
