Rabindranath is the brightest star of Bengali language and literature. It is not possible for a Bengali to ignore his creations.
Today is his 164th birth anniversary. On this day in 1268 Bengal, he was born in Jorasanko Thakurbari, Kolkata.
He was not only a poet, but also a musician, philosopher and humanist thinker. His outstanding personality and versatile talent attracted me to know him. And it is amazing how many books I have read to know his creations.
He is Indian or Hindu. These things never disappoint me. His creations make me overcome all these inferiorities.
If Rabindranath were alive in this wonderful time of artificial intelligence, how would he have This matter of him managing his own creation fascinated me and made me imagine it.
And I really wanted to try to tell everyone about my artificial intelligence (AI) book on his birthday by taking him by his side. It was like reaching my beloved person by pressing a time machine.
I have seen in many writings that many people use Rabindranath in many ways, but many people are reluctant and have difficulty accepting him. Many so-called scholars of Bangladesh are finding many political mistakes. They have become famous by writing books and researching criticizing Rabindranath rather than their own creations. One of the most controversial among them is whether Rabindranath did not want a university for Bengalis.
In fact, he is such a genius who can be used abundantly and can also be damaged for reasons or reasons if the mind wants. Which we have been doing all the time. But everyone is forced to admit that Bengalis have not yet found anyone like Rabindranath. The alternative is a long way off. Before he can be canceled, he must be surpassed.
Has he become almost forgotten, or is he no longer needed? During the Pakistani era, attempts were made to exclude Rabindranath as being against Pakistani tradition.
Just as fundamentalist groups have violently attacked Rabindranath over the ages, the left and ultra-left have also tried to ridicule Rabindranath as a bourgeois poet. Shame on the over-enthusiastic left or the hypocrisy of intellectuals.
Rabindranath has survived till now not through revolutionary zeal or political muscle power. In fact, he will remain alive in the minds of Bengalis through his extraordinary writings and creations.
On this birthday of Rabindranath, I have organized a small writing about him. Those who are denying him are responsible for it. Those who think that he is now unexpected are their thoughts. The poet Yeats wrote the introduction to the book of Rabindranath’s poems, how he fell blessed, Rabindranath received the Nobel Prize.
Again, if someone in the West is asked now, what kind of poet was Rabindranath, then the answer will be, we do not know, because we have not read him. Why is Rabindranath not read in the West. I cannot deny that living in the West.
The most popular poet in the world today is Rumi; people read Kohli’s Gibran, but Rabindranath? He is nowhere outside Bengal. The saying is true. But is this achievement anything less for a poet?
I think he is the most important person among Bengali literary thinkers. We have not yet got a world-class writer, but a good and impeccable translation may be able to create his own position in Bengali literature in an international language. Then world literature will respect Rabindranath in a different way. It will give Nazrul, Jibanananda and Michael Madhusudan.
He has become more popular amidst this hostility of those who are using Rabindranath for political gains and those who think he is one of the losers.
I am a person who supports Rabindranath and my golden Bengal, I love you, the people of the liberation war and the history of the independence struggle of Bangladesh. I deeply believe that those who have taken a stand against this emotion of Bengalis have no chance of lasting long in the hearts of Bengalis.
Through this small writing, I want to express the language of Rabindranath’s
song—
“I have drunk poison knowingly, I have given life to the one who has come.”
