Major New England Music Festival Abruptly Canceled and Fans Are Upset: ‘I’m So Sad’ originally appeared on Parade.
One of the best parts of summer and early fall is taking in outdoor concerts and music festivals, and for many, returning to certain venues for shows each year is a beloved tradition.
But if you happen to live in New England, in particular, Connecticut, and you were looking forward to attending the Soundside Music Festival at Seaside Park in Bridgeport on September 27 and 28, then I have some unfortunate news.
The festival just abruptly announced that they’ve canceled the event, citing “circumstances beyond their control.”
NBC Connecticut explains more in a video shared on TikTok.
Needless to say, fans are totally bummed out by the news, especially given this year’s lineup. Headlining bands included Weezer, The Killers, and Hozier, and there were several other acts on the roster as well.
People took to the comments to voice their disappointment, with one saying, “I’m so sad.”
Another added, “Loved going to the first Sound on Sound and was so looking forward to this year.”
Someone else noted, “I’m actually so upset! I really liked the lineup.”
And one more frustrated concert goer added, “Sunday was so stacked man 😭”
As was noted in the video, tickets are expected to be fully refunded in about 30 days. Oh well… better luck next year?
