According to Kyiv and officials in South Korea, Ukrainian forces have dealt a significant blow to the North Korean troops sent by Russia to fight them, with over 1,000 soldiers killed or wounded.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the number of casualties among North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region has surpassed 3,000.
South Korean intelligence estimates that 1,100 North Korean troops have been killed or wounded, with more reinforcements on the way.
The lack of training in dealing with Ukrainian drones proved to be a significant disadvantage for the North Korean soldiers, resulting in several unintentional casualties among their own ranks.
Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces shared on Telegram that their 8th regiment had successfully neutralized a large number of North Korean troops in Kursk, with video evidence showing the effectiveness of drone attacks.
Despite initial setbacks, Russian President Vladimir Putin remains determined to push back Ukrainian forces, as tensions escalate in Donetsk and other regions.
