‘Marvel Rivals’ and ‘Path of Exile 2’ Boast Similar, Huge Player Numbers

Early December saw some last-minute additions that missed The Game Awards’ 2024 slate but still became major successes.

Marvel Rivals, the superhero shooter, and Path of Exile 2 are leading the pack with impressive player numbers on Steam. As of now:

Path of Exile is #4 on Steam

• 300,000 concurrent players
• 24-hour high of 414,000 concurrent players
• All-time high of 578,000 players

Marvel Rivals is #5 on Steam

• 262,000 concurrent players
• 24-hour high of 402,000 players
• All-time high of 480,000 players

These simultaneous successes are a rare occurrence, especially considering the different genres of the games. Path of Exile 2, despite being in Early Access, is drawing in players due to its long-anticipated release.

Marvel Rivals’ sustained player count is impressive in a competitive genre like multiplayer shooters. While Path of Exile sees a slight drop, it offers a complete campaign experience that some players prefer.
