Massive brawl in stands at VCU-Saint Louis men’s basketball game causes delay


A disturbance near the VCU bench led to a delay in their game against Saint Louis on Tuesday with 1:10 left in the game.

While the cause of the altercation is unknown, it involved multiple individuals and spilled onto the court. Security personnel and police intervened, and the game eventually resumed.

Gibson Jimerson scored 26 points to lead Saint Louis to a 78-69 victory over VCU.

Besides Jimerson’s performance, Kobe Johnson contributed 19 points, while Robbie Avila added 14 points for the Billikens. Zeb Jackson and Phillip Russell led VCU with 15 points each.

Jimerson’s strong second half helped Saint Louis secure the win after trailing at halftime.
