Connections: Sports Edition is a new version of the popular New York Times word game that aims to challenge the sports knowledge of fans.
Similar to the original Connections, this game revolves around finding the “common threads between words.” Just like Wordle, Connections resets daily, with each new set of words becoming more challenging—so we’ve provided hints and tips to help you overcome these challenges.

What is Connections Sports Edition?
The latest daily word game from NYT has been launched in partnership with The Athletic, the New York Times property that covers sports. Connections can be played on both web browsers and mobile devices, challenging players to group four words with a commonality.
Each puzzle consists of 16 words divided into four categories. These sets could include book titles, software, country names, etc. While multiple words may seem related, only one answer is correct.
Getting all four words in a set correct removes them from the board. Guessing incorrectly counts as a mistake—players have up to four mistakes before the game ends.
Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to make finding connections easier. Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similarly to Wordle, results can be shared with friends on social media.
