Miami Removes Defensive Coordinator Lance Guidry as Part of College Football Coaching Carousel Tracker

The college football coaching carousel has gained momentum with the conclusion of the 2024 season for many teams.

Head coaches and coordinators are moving around the country, but the SEC remains the only major conference without a change at head coach.

Here’s a look at who’s staying and who’s going:

Dec. 31

Miami head football coach Mario Cristobal announced on Tuesday that Lance Guidry has been relieved of his duties as defensive coordinator.

Cristobal expressed gratitude to Coach Guidry but decided on a change in the defensive leadership to enhance the program’s performance. The Hurricanes struggled defensively in their last two games of the season, giving up 42 points in each.

Washington State hires South Dakota State‘s Jimmy Rogers as HC

Jimmy Rogers, who led South Dakota State to a national championship and a successful season, is the new head coach at Washington State, replacing Jake Dickert who departed to coach at Wake Forest.
