Holloman, making his first start of the season, led with a career-high 19 points for the Spartans (6-2), with 16 of those points coming in the first half. Jaden Akins, Coen Carr, Jeremy Fears Jr., Frankie Fidler, and Xavier Booker also contributed double-digit points.
For the Tar Heels (4-3), Drake Powell, Elliot Cadeau, and RJ Davis led the scoring with 18, 17, and 16 points respectively.
The game was sent into overtime by a 3-pointer from North Carolina’s Seth Trimble with 5.2 seconds left in regulation.
