The WWE Hall of Famer was Parkview Field’s guest of honor for Friday night’s game between the Tincaps and Great Lakes Loons.
Fort Wayne, Ind. (WFFT) — The Fort Wayne Tincaps hosted Pro Wrestling Night on Friday at Parkview Field, with one special guest coming to celebrate.
WWE Hall of Famer and 3X world champion Mick Foley was welcomed to Parkview Field as the guest of honor. Foley, also known by his alter egos Mankind, Cactus Jack, and Dude Love, spent time before the game answering questions from fans. During the game, more fans had the chance to come meet Foley, take a picture, and receive his autograph.
Many fans wore wrestling themed gear to the game, and the Tincaps players wore special Cactus Jack themed jerseys for Friday night’s game against the Great Lakes Loons. The 40 game worn jerseys were given away to fans after the game.
Foley was born in Bloomington, Ind., and his journey back to the Hoosier state for tonight’s game did not quite go as expected.”
“I was in Boston last night… I had to drive from Boston to Indiana overnight because my flight got cancelled,” Foley explained. “Other guys might go, ‘Hey can’t do it! Hey, flight was cancelled’… I still like to think that commitment matters and if my name is on the marquee I’m going to be there no matter what!”
The Tincaps were defeated 8-0 by the Loons Friday night.
